Ok here's one to think about...
If we are spirit, basically in the form of a person with a body..but we come from spirit and go back to spirit what started it all. I'm very much into evolution, the big bang created the right environment to kick start the existence of life at a very basic level which then evolved etc. If the big bang merely created the correct environment for spirit to live as we do now then what was happening to those spirit energies before ? To say that we are just energies put on earth to learn lessons etc then we must have existed in spirit form prior to earth being formed which means we must have been doing something.
So, what were we doing, and how did it start ?

Good question and one that has been part of my research into quantum physics. On a very steep learning curve and the maths is beyond me but the concept is very interesting

Hmmmm what if we created it,the after life that is.
Ok bare with me on this one.... Take god out of the equation...What if human life at the very beginning actually created heaven/the afterlife even God? As in the human spirit/species spirit was triggerd into existence along with the big bang?
Humans need to understand death,to believe the people we love go somewhere else maybe created the very place they wanted to believe in!

There is also the "bubble" theory within quantum,Hawking's came up with it. Imagine a whole series of bubbles,or universes, all separate but at times they touch and merge and so bits of one can cross to the other. Is the spirit world simply another dimension or universe and we came to this world in the past and as humans have created the idea of a spirit world. When in fact it is a place that we go when we leave this world, not heaven or hell but another dimension. Maybe there are places, worlds, dimensions being created all the time and also dying which to us seem to last for eons but in space and time is only a fraction. So this, our world was created and the people on the "other side" the other dimension saw it and popped through the join where the worlds merge. Can't prove that yet of course but thats why its called theoretical physics

The question is so big and our perspective as incarnated humans is so pathetically small, that I can't help feeling it's nearly futile to spend time thinking about it!
I say nearly futile, because I know there is value in pushing the limits of thought and understanding.
The trouble is, our thinking is largely confined to the three dimensions we are used to working with in our waking lives and this is our biggest limiting factor.
Thinking beyond 3 dimensions hurts and anything you manage to bring back doesn't really make any sense when converted into language.

I think its quite possible that we created a large part of it. I've just read a post on Jung on another thread, and he talks about archytypes and thoughtforms that we as humans have brought into existence by believing in them and passing them on to our children. Father Christmas, the bogeyman and the tooth fairy for example are some examples....

Yup I agree Stu,certainly chicken and the egg thing going on here...But these basic types of questions are great at getting the grey matter active.. What is your personal opinion and why
